Note To Self — Entry for Best Progressive R&B Album
-
Note To Self is a six-track journey through the moments and stories that shaped my past few years. Moody but playful, somber yet sweet, it blends soulful indie textures with touches of jazz, rock, Latin, and R&B. Introspective lyrics and rich vocals come together in a genre-blurring body of work that feels like a conversation with both my quietest thoughts and loudest dreams.

-
She’s Gone is a jazz-infused soul rock track about walking away from what’s familiar to embrace the new. It starts with an easy neo-soul groove and builds into a full-band jam with lush harmonies and a haunting operatic bridge. It’s a personal anthem for trusting your intuition and taking the leap.

I remember when I realized I was trippin’
It was a Tuesday, ‘round 2:15
Staring at a cluttered screen
See, my higher self she told me I was slippin’
Giving all my energy
To build someone else’s dream
So I knew I had to make a decision
To let myself break free
Or be swallowed up in misery
And the decision couldn’t wait another minute
So before the clock struck three
It was goodbye for me
She’s gone
Yeah, she’s gone
Log me out, shut it down
I don’t work here no more
I’m packing up, I gotta go
She’s gone, gone, gone
Yeah, gone
Somebody brand new
Is coming through
And the old me is gone
Yeah she’s gone
Right away I start to feel the haze lifting
Clearing out a way for me to see a new beginning
Shedding an identity I wore
Just to go to war with the world
But that was never really me
I hear myself a way I didn’t hear before
My inner voice is showing up strong
Breaking down every wall, every fear, every doubt
Every thing that ever got in the way
If you don’t recognize me
Adjust your vision
Or join me on the journey
We’re raising our vibration
Living at our best
Laying old ways to rest
She’s gone
Yeah she’s gone
Log me out, shut it down
I don’t work here no more
I’m packing up, I gotta go
And she’s gone, gone, gone
Yeah, gone
Somebody brand new
Is coming through
And the old me is gone
She’s gone
Never gonna see me again
No, no, no, never gonna see me again
Never gonna see me again
No, no, no, never gonna see me again
Never gonna see me again
No, no, no, never gonna see me again
Never gonna see me again
No, no, no, never gonna see me again
She’s gone, gone, gone
Yeah she’s gone
Log me out, shut it down
I don’t work here no more
I’m packing up, I gotta go
She’s gone, gone, gone
Yeah she’s gone
Somebody brand new
Is coming through
And the old me is gone
Yeah she’s gone

Woke up out my sleep again
And I reach for you
By my side
But I’m surprised
‘Cause you’re not there
Happens to me now and then
Where my mind’s in
A world where
We didn’t end
We had
That once upon a time love
I wonder does it come back around
‘Cause these
Vivid dreams
Feel like a memory from a future
Where you and me
Let things play out little differently
But it’s all a vivid dream
These thoughts are running through my head
And I realize
After all this time
I never tried
To even forget
The days before it all went left
Back when no one was ever wrong
Or so I tell myself
We had
That high up on a cloud love
I wonder does it come back around
‘Cause these
Vivid dreams
Feel like a memory from a future
Where you and me
Let things play out little differently
But it’s all a vivid dream
Maybe we found a way
In another time
Another place
Where it didn’t hurt to stay
And we may not ever know
What more could have been
Or if it all was just
A vivid dream
Feels like a memory
From a future
Where you and me
Let things play out little differently
But it’s all a vivid dream
