SINGER · ACTOR · WRITER · CREATOR

The whole story.

Jasmine Janaye is many things at once. A singer, writer, actor, and creative producer whose work reflects a unique journey to finding her artistic voice.

My story starts in Mobile, AL, where I grew up nurturing an early love for music, writing, and performance. I had wide-ranging musical tastes, a near-obsession with scripted TV, and a natural inclination to take the stage. At the time, it felt like a collection of loose interests. Looking back, it was the beginning of something that would grow with me in time.

THE SETUP I left home for Cambridge, MA, where I studied History and Science at Harvard. But outside the classroom is where I really came alive. I sang and arranged music with KeyChange, an a cappella group known for reimagining R&B and soul classics, and found my way to the stage, playing roles like Glinda in The Wiz

After graduation, I moved to New York, and life took a more “practical” turn. I spent over a decade building a career in strategy, operations, and account management working across the sports, entertainment, and tech industries. I got really good at bringing order to complexity (so many spreadsheets!) and turning big ideas into actional plans (so many slide decks!). It was stable and it looked great on paper. But there was always a quiet pull toward something more creative.

THE TURNING POINT That pull got louder during an unexpected summer in Kauai, where I emerged from the isolation of the pandemic to join a Black artist on the island. Days were filled with music, writing, art-making, and deep conversations that stretched well into the night. Being immersed in that creative energy shifted something in me. By the time I came back, I felt more clear, more grounded, and ready to leap.

Now based in Atlanta, I’m building a creative universe that incorporates sound, story, and embodied experience.

THE CONTINUATION My music carries an indie-soul blend with jazz influence and comes to life in intimate performances across the city. My debut EP, Note To Self, explores growth, healing, and the winding road back to yourself.

I’m also developing original work for television, including Please Stop Asking, a character-driven dramedy, and The Love Experiment, a playful, reality-inspired ensemble piece. Both are currently in development, with proof-of-concept production underway. Alongside this, I continue to train and perform as an actor for both screen and stage.

Beyond traditional mediums, I explore my interest in the connection between creativity and the body through immersive, sensory-driven experiences. I curate spaces that invite people to slow down, tune in, and feel more deeply.

THE INVITATION This is my story, as it’s still being written. Music, story, performance, and felt experience coming together in a creative world that is both firmly rooted and ever-evolving.

You’re witnessing the process in real time and you’re invited to step inside.
